What Denver CO Deck Builders is

We connect Denver-area homeowners with independent local deck builders for free, no-obligation quotes. The contractor you choose quotes, permits, contracts and builds directly with you.

The service is free for homeowners and comes with no obligation. You tell us about the deck you have in mind, whether that is a new wood or composite deck, a replacement for an aging one, repairs, staining, railings or a pergola, and your request goes to independent contractors who work in your part of the metro.

Denver CO Deck Builders is an independent quote service and is not affiliated with any deck company of a similar name, including companies named Denver Deck Builders.

Denver CO Deck Builders is not a contractor, does not build or repair decks, and holds no contractor license.

How it works

  1. Tell us about your deck

Use the free quote form to share rough size, height off the ground, material and timing. Only your name and phone are required.

  2. Hear from local contractors

Independent deck builders who serve your area contact you, usually after we reply the same day, to discuss the project and arrange a visit.

  3. Compare and decide

Each contractor gives its own quote and terms. You choose who to hire, or no one at all.

For more detail on design, permits and inspections, see the deck building process.

Before you hire a deck builder

Denver CO Deck Builders does not check licenses, insurance or work history for you, so run through this checklist with any contractor you are considering:

  • License and permit. In Denver, the contractor holds a current City and County of Denver contractor license (residential work is normally Class C) and will pull the permit. In Aurora, Lakewood, Littleton, Arvada, Thornton, Douglas County (Highlands Ranch) and other suburbs, the contractor is licensed or registered with that city or county.
  • Insurance. Ask for proof of liability and workers’ compensation insurance.
  • Written contract. Get a written contract with the scope, materials and payment schedule.
  • Approvals. Get HOA approval, and in Denver historic districts a Certificate of Appropriateness, before work starts.

Permit rules vary across the metro. In most of the metro, an attached deck or any deck 30 inches or more above grade needs a permit; Denver adds a zoning permit above 12 inches, and Parker requires a permit for every deck. This is general information, not legal advice.
